It's been a great 2.5 months, getting these programs in Senegal started! Vive l'expérience offers these specially-designed programs for all kinds of French language educators: middle and high school teachers, college and university professors, Immersion and DLI teachers, as well as retired teachers and pre-service teachers. While this is our first focus, we do have some ideas you can read about for future Spring and Summer Programs. I am still working full-time as a high school teacher and the chair of our World Languages department, so if you have any special requests for workshops or lesson plans or ideas, please reach out. Last Month's Highlights
In January we offered another informational meeting, with lots of enthusiastic attendees. About 10 people have already signed up for Summer #1 and #2 for 2024. Check out the resource page we launched today! You can also find Vive on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube with additional resources including culture, geography, music, tourism, history, Omar Sy, and more. In general, most of our posts should be of interest to French language educators, even if you can't join us on a trip right away. On February 1, we held a pre-departure cultural orientation for our Summer 2023 participants with the highlight being Matou teaching the participants Senegalese customs and greetings in Wolof.
What's Ahead
Even though we are full for the Senegal 2023 Summer Program, we are accepting 4 French language educators to join our waitlist with a $575 fully refundable deposit. If this is of interest to you, but you aren't 100% sure, please reach out to us with any questions. If you haven't joined us yet for an Informational Meeting regarding our Senegal programs, we'd love for you to RSVP for the next one on February 28, 2023. The informational meeting will answer many of your questions regarding the itinerary, costs, payment schedules, travel arrangements, medical requirements, and more. It's also a fun way to learn a little more about Senegal. You can secure your place on an upcoming 2024 trip with a $200 non-refundable deposit.
