  • Description: District grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities abroad.Global grants support large international activities with sustainable, measurable outcomes in Rotary’s areas of focus. Disaster response grants support relief and recovery efforts in areas that have been affected by natural disaster. Programs of scale grants fund intentional effort by Rotary members, in partnership with others, to expand proven program models within our areas of focus in order to benefit more people and in more places and foster lasting change. Must be a member of a Rotary Club to apply.

$20,000 to $50,000 - AFT Innovation Fund
(American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO)

  • Description: These grants are about getting “back to the basics” by directly investing in the kinds of classroom initiatives, educator supports and school-based enrichment programs that help kids and communities succeed in the long term. We invite local and state K-12, PSRP and higher education members, with support from their affiliate president, to submit applications that focus on educator retention, career and technical education, community schools initiatives and literacy proposals.
  • Amount: Grant awards will range from $20,000 to $50,000 (with consideration given to affiliate size).

$10,000 to $20,000 - Teacher Development Grants
(McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation)

  • Description: For licensed k-12 teachers employed in public or private schools; have the background and experience to complete the project successfully; are willing to work in collaboration with the Foundation.
  • Amount: The Foundation awards grants to individuals in amounts up to $10,000 per year for a maximum of $20,000 over two years, provided the eligibility requirements continue to be met.
  • Deadline: The application system closes when they reach 350 submissions. Submissions accepted JANUARY 15 – APRIL 15.

125 Awards up-to $15,000 - Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program (TCFP) - Indiana Teachers Only
(Lilly Endowment)

  • Description:
    • Lilly Endowment is pleased to announce the 39th round of its Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program (TCFP). This program supports K-12 educators throughout Indiana by providing resources for them to take time for meaningful renewal. We believe that through new experiences, exploration and reflection educators can generate renewed energy in their careers, innovative approaches to teaching and educational leadership, and thoughtful ways to encourage students’ creative thinking. TCFP renewal projects are not intended to be typical vacations, rather they are meant to be intentional experiences that restore educators’ enthusiasm for their profession and stimulate their creativity, which should in turn enhance the educational experiences of their students.

      The Endowment expects to award approximately 125 teacher creativity grants, each totaling up to $15,000, in 2026. Fellowship grant periods will be for 18 months. Each proposal should include activities that are intellectually enriching and personally renewing and that provide opportunities for exploration and fulfillment that would otherwise not be possible. Proposals are due by 6 p.m. (ET) on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Fifty $2,000 awards + $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000 awards - Voya Unsung Heroes
(Voya Unsung Heroes)

  • Description: For two decades, and with nearly $5 million in awarded grants, Voya Unsung Heroes has proven to be an A+ program with educators. The program’s “alumni” have inspired success in the classroom and impacted countless numbers of students.
  • Amount: 50 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000.

(Fund for Teachers)

  • Description: Fellowship proposals that prioritize teachers seeking solutions to their own, genuine problems of practice will be best aligned to grant goals. In addition, proposals that have the potential to center students as changemakers for problems in their communities are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Amount: Individuals may apply for up to $5,000 and teams may apply for up to $10,000 (while team members may be from different schools, districts or states, all members must meet the eligibility criteria)

  • Description:
    • Diversity Grants — To develop and pursue instructional classroom programs or curriculum that promote diversity, tolerance, and respect for humankind.
    • Innovation Grants — For the pursuit of innovative and creative practices where learning is enriched by experiences or project.

Up-to $5,000 - Grants from your school or University

  • Description: Numerous teachers and professors obtained funding through their school or university before signing up. Vive can provide a letter to help support your request with relevant information about the trip and its benefits for participants. 
  • Amount: Up-to $5,000 (based on past participants comments)
  • Deadline: Usually need to submit a year ahead or in the Fall before a Vive trip.

$1,500 to $5,000 - NEA Learning & Leadership Grants
(NEA Foundation Grants)

  • Description: Applicants must be teachers, education support professionals, or specialized instructional support personnel and must be current NEA members.
  • Amount: Learning & Leadership grants will fund around 75 projects between $1,500 and $5,000. Grants fund activities for 12 months from the date of the award.
  • Deadline: Applications are accepted throughout the year; reviewed three times a year, beginning on February 1, June 1, and October 15

$3,000 - Stipend for Wolof Studies
(Kansas African Studies Center)

  • Description: The Kansas African Studies Center has substantial tuition stipends for interested educators to attend the seventh annual Summer African Language Institute (SALI) which will be conducted remotely this summer. Educators from K-12 schools, minority-serving institutions, and community college instructors are particularly encouraged to apply. The Institute runs annually from June to July with intensive language courses Monday through Thursday for four hours per day. Small class sizes allow for maximum individual attention from native speakers trained in language education in a fun and relaxed environment. Courses are taught through the Department of African and African-American Studies. Several stipends of $3,000 each for teachers will be awarded. Classes at the beginner level are 10 credits split between two summer sessions, while classes at the intermediate level are 6 credits split between two summer sessions.

(Utah Foreign Language Association)

  • Description: Requirements:
    • 1. Be a current member of UFLA;
    • 2. Be contracted to teach in a public or private school, elementary through university level, during the present year;
    • 3. Intend to teach this language for at least three more years;
    • 4. Be willing to report and share their experience with the UFLA membership.

Classroom Microgrants for Language Educators
(ACTFL and Vista Classroom)

  • Description:
    • (NOTE: 2026 grants have not been announced yet – check weblink regularly)
    • (NOTE: This could be used to fund post-trip projects in the classroom)
    • The LCF/Vista Microgrants Program for Language Educators is an initiative aimed at supporting and empowering those who are dedicated to promoting multilingualism and cultural diversity in the classroom. This program provides small grants to K-12 educators who are passionate about teaching languages and incorporating cultural elements into their lessons.

      This program is open to all K-12 language educators regardless of setting. Eligible individuals may apply for grants of $300 to fund a variety of projects, including:

    • Organizing cultural events or activities for their learners, including those in collaboration with relevant community organizations; and
    • Creating projects that support diverse perspectives and provide opportunities to develop cultural competence.

  • Description:
    • Love of Learning Awards help fund post-baccalaureate professional development for active Phi Kappa Phi members to include (but not be limited to): Graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, travel related to teaching/research/learning, etc. One hundred fifty-five awards, at $1,000 each, are distributed each year.
